All about the music

Hi! I am Francois J. Haasbroek and I’ve been operating as a musician in Cape Town for more than 10 years. I am available for solo or full band gigs, whether it’s for a private party, a wedding or big events.

My repertoire consists of 300+ popular folk and acoustic rock-styled covers.

The relationship with the crowd is for me just as important as my relationship with the person hiring me to play. Some venues I’ve established such a relationship with, that I’ve been a regular musician there for more than a decade.

Keeping it professional

I am dependable, presentable and always on time. With years of experience entertaining large crowds, private parties and weddings, I pride myself on my work ethic, musical knowledge and pristine equipment.

A question I get asked a lot is “What kind of music do you play?” Although I have my favorite tunes, I always try to read the crowd and play a selection from my huge repertoire that suits that particular crowd the best.

The more the merrier

Most of my gigs are just me and my guitar, but over the years I’ve partnered with various other musicians.

I can cater for whatever kind of music setup you are looking for your event – whether it’s live background music, or a full band jamming while your guests hit the dance floor.

What can you expect?

My quotes will include all the sound equipment and is usually determined by the length of the gig. Whether it’s a small birthday get together, weddings, pubs or wine farms, the repertoire will be adjusted to suit the atmosphere.

Basic lighting to create is also included, if needed. Any gig within 50 km of Cape Town will not pay extra for transport.

How do you book?

Easy! Just send me an email or give me a call. Firstly, we will check my availability. You then tell me what exactly you want, and I’ll send you a quote. Once you confirm, the date is yours!

Have a listen

If you haven’t heard me playing live before, listen here to get the idea of what I do. A couple of years ago, me and a few friends went into the studio to record a couple of tracks. They are listed below:
Here are some clips from a live show or two.
